ACTIVITIES
The working jurisdiction of Kerala Samajam Dooravaninagar has been divided as eight Zones. They are ITI Colony, Vijinapura, Ramamurthy Nagar West, Ramamurthy Nagar East, KR Puram, Mahadevapura, Udaya Nagar and Margondanahally. In case of unpredictable events like death or accidents of any person, especially Malayalees in and around the working area of the Samajam, our selfless and service minded volunteers rush to the spot to do the needful – inform friends and relatives. In case of death we take the responsibility of taking the body of the deceased to their home town (if the relatives so desire). We now have an Ambulance equipped with Freezer and other facilities for this purpose. It is tradition and culture that almost all our members visit the bereaved family and pay last respect without fail.

POOR CHILDREN EDUCATION FUND
Kerala Samajam Dooravaninagar had established another scheme to extend financial support to the students hailing from economically weaker sections, in their studies by sponsoring their tuition fees. It is a fact, that many children are deprived of education, as their parents cannot afford even the meagre fees that our school is charging. We take care of some of such children and help them to go to school by providing fees for which we have established a Poor Children Education Fund, fully dedicated for this purpose. Every year we extend our help by remitting fees for the neediest students of Jubilee School and Jubilee College.
Utilizing this fund we have provided tuition fees for many students of Jubilee School and Jubilee College in the previous years. We accept donations every year from philanthropists towards this novel cause.
Poor Children Education fund was initiated with the ‘one month’s salary’ donated by our former MLA and Minister Late A Krishnappa during his visit to our school. Later Shri. B.A. Basavaraj, MLA of K.R. Puram, has contributed Rs.2, 50,000/- (Rupees Two Lakhs Fifty Thousand only) towards PCEF in a function organized at Jubilee School. Major General Tehiliani (retired) had deposited Rs.5 lakhs as Fixed deposit and donated the interest acquired from the deposit to the PCEF for a few years. This is apart from Rs.20,000/- donated by him earlier. We are deeply indebted to all our well-wishers, donors, members and other patrons of Kerala Samajam who have been extending support to this noble cause.
